SEO OS on our live sites: audit, publish, verify
SEO OS audited every Slipper Digital site, then took one change through its whole workflow on our live homepage: approved, checked against the live site, published through the Cloudflare connector, verified by a recrawl and rolled back.
Nothing loads until you press play.
The recording is SEO OS 3.1.4 on 28 September, working on slipperdigital.com. It imports three months of Search Console data, crawls the site, and finds that the homepage ranks around position 7 with no clicks. It drafts two changes. The analyst approves the title, which moves the topic ahead of the brand, and rejects the description draft, because the live description already describes the page.
Before publishing, the dry run compares every file in the deploy folder with what the live site serves: 80 of 80 matched, so publishing could not overwrite anything newer. The connector then publishes to Cloudflare, and SEO OS recrawls the homepage and passes the change only because the live page now carries the approved title. The change was then rolled back, and a second recrawl confirmed the original title was live again; that last step ran a few seconds after the recording ends and is in the change set's log. The same publish, validation and rollback ran a second time that evening with the same result.
Five days earlier, on 23 September, SEO OS 3.1.3 crawled the main site, the Knowledge Hub, the offer site, Kept Simple and this Lab: 2,614 URLs, with a JavaScript-rendered sample on each site. Every finding names the pages it affects and the rule a recrawl must meet to count as fixed.
The largest finding explained a Search Console problem. 601 real hub pages were listed as discovered but never crawled. SEO OS showed that the hub's homepage linked only 2 of its 22 library pages in plain HTML; the other 20, and the topic pages under them, were reachable only through JavaScript. It also found 84 indexable pages with no internal links, 20 product pages whose text existed only after JavaScript ran, and five articles serving raw Markdown.
The fixes went out the same day: plain links to every library, article and tool, the product pages written into their HTML, the articles rendered, headings corrected and internal search results kept out of the crawl. The recrawl then measured them: pages with no internal links fell from 84 to 1, and pages with a missing or repeated H1 from 30 to 0.
Running it on real sites also tested SEO OS itself. Six of its own findings were wrong, among them a page of product cards measured at 33 words instead of about 1,000, and a heading with a line break reported as changed by JavaScript. Each was reproduced in a test, fixed and shipped in the 3.1.3 packages.
Two things to read correctly. The 23 September audit fixes on the hub were published with Cloudflare's own command-line tool; the recorded homepage change is the one that went through the SEO OS connector. And the audit's effect on indexing will show in Search Console over the coming weeks. The run also caught one more limit in SEO OS: the check that drafts title proposals needed 500 impressions on a page, which a young site never reaches. 3.1.4 sets that floor from the site's own data, and that fix is what produced the proposal in the recording.
